BHOTE KOSHI
A short bus ride from Kathmandu brings us to "Sukute
Beach Adventure Camp" (7o kms drive from Kathmandu))
on the Kathmandu - Tibet road. Further 26 km from the camp
is the put-in of the most action packed short white water
run in Nepal. The river drops steeply offering relentless
stretches of class 3 - 4 white water. Boulder gardens, small
waterfalls, steep chutes and 90-degree ends are just some
of the obstacles to be overcome. Like the Marshyangdi, this
river is not typical of the big volume waters of the Himalaya,
it is steep, technical and requires a reactive crew.
Summary

River start point: 95 Kms. drives from Kathmandu

ITINERARY
Pre-departure meeting will be held at the office in Kathmandu
at 6 pm the night before to clear any questions.
Day-1 : We travel by our private bus to
'Sukute Beach Adventure Camp' (KM 69), this is a spectacular
drive through villages and if weather permits, you will
have fantastic mountain views i.e. Ganesh Himal, Langtang
etc. Upon arrival in the camp, the Camp Manager will brief
and assign you the room, and then lunch will be served.
After lunch, your expedition leader will deliver a safety
talk and provide all paddling gear for the trip. Then we
drive 22 km up to the starting point of the trip, we raft
the first 10 km of the MOST exciting stretch of the river
and then return to the start to rerun the same stretch the
next day rather than continue with only half a day paddling
to the end. Drive back to our camp, change your wet clothes,
go for hot drinks, rum punch, enjoy the scenery and late
evening have buffet dinner. Have fun and chill out.
Day-2 : Early morning, have hot drinks
and breakfast then pack your gears, we drive back 22 km
up stream. You have the second chance to show how your raft
team can work well together in challenging rapids. We have
lunch on the river and continue the action until the take
out point. Our trip is over in here, by mid-noon. Once you
get there load up all the kits on bus, drive back about
half an hour to resort. Have lunch, relax for a while and
drive back to Kathmandu.
