EVEREST BASE CAMP ( FLIGHT IN FLIGHT OUT 18 Days Program)

Itinerary
Day 01:
Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 02:
full day sight seeing in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Kathmandu-Lukla-Phakding(2600m):
It takes around 40 minutes to fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. When you leave the airport you see the Langtang and Jugal ranges surrounding the Kathmandu Basin. Next you fly over Rolwaling Himal where Gaurishankar and Menlungtse are particularly striking. Then when you enter the Khumbu region the nose of the plane down and you make a thrilling but safe landing at Lukla.

You begin a gentle climb up the mountain side on the left bank of the Dudhkoshi. Nupla(5885m) which can be seen in the distance on the opposite bank is a peak a top the Kongde Ri ridge. When you descend a mountainside path that images into this route to Everest. At its far end you may see Kusum Kang(6367m). The Dudhkoshi approaches you pass a Mani wall and arrive at Ghat where there is a tea house. Continue walking along a small path many ups and downs that follows the left band of Dudhkoshi to Phakding(2600m). The village on the left band, and you must cross the modern bridge to the right bank for camping.

Day 04: Namche(3440m) -As you follow the level path along the right bank from campsite, Thamserku(6623m) looks skyward on the opposite bank. After crossing the stream and climb the terraced hills from the Dudhkoshi route you walk through the forest from where the view of Everest is excellent. The climb erases somewhat, and Namche Bazaar appears ahead as you travel along the path surrounded by pines. You pan the plateau where the Saturday bazaar is held and enter the village Namche Bazaar(3440m).

Day 05: Tangboche(3860m) - After leaving Namche bazaar and climbing to the top of the ridge, you come to a level mountain path that offers an excellent panorama of Thamserku, Kantega and Kusum Kang. To the right is a steep cliff that drops down to Dudhkoshi, taintly visible on the valley floor below. As you make your way around a branch ridge, Ama Dablam(6812m), Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse(7855m) and Tawetse(6501m) suddenly appears. And then you descend gently to Dudhkoshi and cross a wooden bridge to reach Phunki Tenga, and take a long clim to Tangboche. Tangboche is an important look out point on this course and the sunset on Everest and Ama Dablam is especially beautiful.

Day 06: Pheriche (4240m) - Leave Tangboche with its representative Himalayan scenery-Monastery, Chortens and the Khumbu mountain as a backdrop and ascend a rhododendron covered area to emerge to a pleasant level area. Pass a long Manistone wall to while looking up at Ama Dablam and Kantega appears on the opposite band. As you ascend the chorten-lined route, you come to a folk - the upper path goes to Pangboche terin and a Monastery, but you take the lower path to Pangboche Olin. Pan through the village and cross the stream, climb past the tree line on a gently slopping path a mid low scrub to Orsho. It is an easy climb to Pheriche where there is a clinic of the Tokyo medical University, Pheriche offers a vista of Tawetse to the left and the unfamiliar back view of Ama Dablam. And take a days rest here at Pheriche.

Day 07: Rest day.

Day 08: Chukung - You leave the village and walk into a grass-carpeted valley Karpa where you begin an upward climb. The stone mountain of stones and pebbles straight ahead is the terminal moraine of Khumbu Glacier. After fording the stream that ecanates from the glacier, you climb to Lukla. From where you reach to the village of Chukung and have a days rest.

Day 09: Lobuche(4887m) - After leaving Chukung you wind around a lateral moraine of Khumbu Glacier and enter the zone of ablation. Fording a stream, you walk along a mountain side route with Pumori(7161m)straight ahead and Nuptse the right. You arrive at Chilly Lobuche where there are three hotels as well as a lodge run by the National Park service.

Day 10: Gorakshep(5100m) - While enjoying the rays of the morning sun on Pumori, you follow a level path through the zone of ablation, standing a top the moraine after a short climb, you look down upon Khumbu Glacier and Changri Glacier that how onto Khumbu Glacier from the left. You cut across the rocky changri glacier and climb up the lateral moraine on the opposite at Gorakshep.

Day 11: Kalapattar - You'll have to climb in order to reach Kalapattar, the climb is very difficult in the beginning because the first incline is extremely step. While the angle of incline eases after the first hill, it is a still very long walk. The view from either ridge is enough to make you forget the difficult climb. Long waited Everest and Nuptse -the world's highest peaks and Ama Dablam, Kantega, Thamserku, Tawetse to the south together with Pumori above and extendely to China's Changtse(7553m) all from a magnifcient 360 panorama, through ice pinnacles and plateaus and finally arrive at Mt. Everest ahead is the jagged ice fall. It is desolate world enclosed by walls of rocks and take a days rest and camp.

Day 12: Pheriche - hike back from Lobuche to Pheriche.
Day 13: Tangboche - hike back from Pheriche to Tangboche.
Day 14: Namche - hike back from Tangboche to Namche.
Day 15: Lukla -hike back from Namche to Lukla.
Day 16: Morning flight from Lukla/Kathmandu & half day rest day.
Day 17: Full day sight seeing.
Day 18: Final departure.
