Trekking in Rolwaing Region

Rolwaling Valley Trek is one of Nepal’s finest high mountain valleys West of the Khumhu, directly on the Tibetan frontier there is a wild, lonely high valley the “Rolwaling” which is called simply “the grave” by the indigenous Sherpa’s on account of its location – buried down between steep ice-giants. Many mysterious stories have been passed on about this valley. Through which the forefathers of the present-day Sherpa’s once came. It is here that the notorious and celebrated Yeti is supposed to make his home. Entire research expeditions have, so far unsuccessfully, attempted to find him. Very few tourist success to do trekking in this area, cause of its, covering the mountain terrain of the Nepal-China (Tibet) border, the trail to this pass goes between huge mountains along glaciers, situated in eastern parts. Rolwaling Valley Trekking is the east-west valley below Gauri Shankar (7145m), just south of the Tibetan border. This area is culturally diverse and densely forested and isolated. Rolwaling provides spectacular mountain scenery with peace and incredible views. Rolwaling possesses an immense wealth of flora & fauna. The forefathers of the present-day Sherpa’s have passed down many mysterious stories over the ages about this hidden region. The most famous one is that the mysterious mountain creature Yeti is supposed to have made his home here.

 

Itineraries(Options)

Option-I

Day 1: Arrival Kathmandu pickup from SFT staff transfer to hotel, welcome drink – Tour briefing and equipment check at convienient time.

Day 2: A full day sightseeing within the Kathmandu valley with our tour guide by private car.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Barabise 960m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 4: Trek from Barabise to Kavre 1605m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 5: Trek from Kavre to Dolongsa 1900m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 6: Trek from Dolongsa to Bigu Gompa 2519m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 7: Trek from Bigu Gompa to Chilangka 1407m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 8: Trek from Chilangka to Bulong 1890m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 9: Trek from Kulong to Shalu 1500m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 10: Trek from Shalu to Simigaun 2000m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 11: Trek from Simigaun to Forest Camp 2800m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 12: Trek from Forest Camp to Beding 3694m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 13: Explore to Yalung Ri 5630m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 14: Trek from Beding to Na 4180m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 15: Trek from Na to Forest Camp 2800m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 16: Trek from Forest Camp to Chetchet 1370m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 17: Trek from Chetchet to Suri Doban 1030m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 18: Trek from Suri Doban to Dolakha 1732m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 19: Trek from Dolakha to Charikot 1554m, stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 20: Drive from Charikot back to Kathmandu – transfer to hotel.

Day 21: At leisure and shopping day in Kathmandu.

Day 22: Transfer to airport at the requested time – flight to onward destination.

Option-II

Day 01: Arrive international airport in Kathmandu and transport to the selected hotel at Thamel, The hotel is centrally located in the Thamel area of Kathmandu which is renowned for its many restaurants, shops, bars, and nightclubs etc which cater for the tourists.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley full day sightseeing with the professional tour guide.
Day 03: Drive to Singgati Bazar 6/7 hour by Local bus 950 mt. stay overnight at Tent,
Day 04: Trek to Sure Dobhan 4/5 hours walk 1030 meters. stay overnight at Tent,
Day 05: Trek to Jagat 5 hours walk 1150 meters. stay overnight at Tent,
Day 06: Trek to Simigaon 5 hours walk 1990 meters. stay overnight at Tent,
Day 07: Trek to Gyalche 5 hours walk 2890 meters. stay overnight at Tent,
Day 08: Trek to Beding 5 / 6 hours walk 3690 meters. stay overnight at Tent,
Day 09: Trek to Na 5 hours walk 4180 meters. stay overnight at Tent,
Day 10: Rest day for acclimatisation
Day 11: Trek to Chyukyoma 5/6 hours walk 4870 meters. stay overnight at Tent,
Day 12: Trek to Trakarding Glacier 5/6 hours walk 6850 meters. stay overnight at Tent,
Day 13: Trek to Odar 4/ 5 hours overnight at Tent,
Day 14: Parchamo Basecamp via Tashi Lapcha La Pass 5 hours walk 5755 meters. stay overnight attent,
Day 15: Trek to Thame, 5 hours walk 3820 meters. stay overnight at Teahouse,
Day 16: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3 hours walk 3440 meters. stay overnight at Teahouse,
Day 17: Trek back to Lukla (4 ½ hours walking) stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 18: Fly back to Kathmandu early in the morning (35 minutes) and stay overnight at hotel.
Day 19: Departure day in your home country. We will provide you free transport to international Tribhuvan airports,

 

Our Trek Package Cost Includes:

* Items and expenses of personal nature.
* Any kind of alcoholic drinks, cold drinks, laundry, phone call, internet.
* Personal Trekking Equipments like sleeping bags, jackets (can all be hired in KTM)
* Emergency Evacuation (Helicopter Rescue).
* Any costs which arise due to a change of the itinerary, because of landslides, political disturbance, and strikes etc.
* Any other costs whatsoever, that is not mentioned in the cost included.
* Horse renting and additional porters due to natural calamities during the trek.
* Tips for guide, porters, driver…
Tipping is expected but it is not mandatory.
